Garage Project - Pernicious Weed
Pre-Order: Shipping Early December
Beer Description
Once upon a time, hops were considered a dangerous influence on society. When they first arrived in England during the 1500s, they were condemned as a “wicked and pernicious weed”, supposedly destined to corrupt public morals. Thankfully, Garage Project has decided to celebrate this notorious botanical troublemaker with Pernicious Weed, a magnificently hop-saturated 8% Double IPA that makes absolutely no apologies for its intensity.
Brewed with an exceptional combination of organic Rakau and whole-cone Nelson Sauvin hops, this bold, golden IPA delivers an explosion of vibrant citrus, ripe tropical fruit and distinctive New Zealand hop character. Expect enticing aromas of juicy grapefruit, sweet stone fruits and fragrant white grapes, accompanied by delicate hints of gooseberry and resinous pine. On the palate, luscious waves of ripe peach, citrus zest and tropical fruit are met by a substantial, assertive bitterness that provides a refreshing contrast to the beer's fruity intensity.
Big, bold and gloriously bitter, Pernicious Weed delivers a wonderfully satisfying drinking experience with a lingering finish of grapefruit, pine resin and mouthwatering hop bitterness. At a formidable 80 IBUs, this is a proper hop lover's IPA, celebrating everything that makes New Zealand hops so exceptional. Intensely hoppy? Absolutely. Too much? Never!
