Pre-Order: Shipping Early November
Beer Description
An extraordinary celebration of patience, craftsmanship and exceptional barrel ageing, Curiosité #2 is a magnificent 11.9% Russian Imperial Stout from Quebec's acclaimed Brasserie du Bas-Canada. Created by blending Imperial Stouts matured for an astonishing 32 months in Willett bourbon barrels and 34 months in Buffalo Trace bourbon barrels, this luxurious creation showcases the remarkable depth and complexity that only prolonged maturation can deliver.
Pouring an imposing jet black, Curiosité #2 promises an intensely inviting aroma of dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee, toasted oak and warming bourbon. The extended barrel ageing brings suggestions of rich vanilla, caramelised sugar and dark toffee, complemented by subtle hints of charred wood and warming spice.
On the palate, expect beautifully layered flavours of bittersweet chocolate, espresso and deeply roasted malt, intertwined with the luxurious character of American bourbon barrels. The Willett casks contribute anticipated notes of warming spice, oak and caramel, while the Buffalo Trace barrels introduce further suggestions of vanilla, sweet toffee and gentle char.
Rich, full-bodied and wonderfully complex, Curiosité #2 promises a sumptuous drinking experience, with its considerable strength complemented by the depth of its roasted malt character. The finish is long and warming, leaving lingering impressions of dark chocolate, bourbon-soaked oak, vanilla and delicate spice.
A spectacular after-dinner Imperial Stout and an outstanding example of Brasserie du Bas-Canada's dedication to creating exceptional barrel-aged beers. One to savour slowly and appreciate every magnificent mouthful.
