Brasserie Du Bas-Canada x Moksa Brewing Co - Complicité

An extraordinary collaboration between Quebec's acclaimed Brasserie du Bas-Canada and California's celebrated Moksa Brewing Company, Complicité: Moksa is a magnificent 11.9% barrel-aged Imperial Stout that showcases the remarkable complexity achieved through prolonged maturation in exceptional American whiskey barrels.

This luxurious creation brings together a carefully selected blend of Imperial Stouts matured for an average of 30 months in Willett bourbon, Rittenhouse rye whiskey and Willett rye whiskey barrels. The result is an intensely rich, deeply layered beer that celebrates the interplay between roasted malt, oak and the distinctive character of these prestigious spirits.

Pouring an imposing jet black, Complicité: Moksa promises enticing aromas of dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee, toasted oak and warming whiskey. Expect suggestions of rich caramel, vanilla fudge and dark fruit, complemented by the spicy complexity associated with rye whiskey maturation.

On the palate, layers of bittersweet chocolate, espresso and deeply roasted malt intertwine with the rich vanilla, caramel and toasted oak character imparted by the bourbon barrels. The rye whiskey casks introduce a contrasting dimension, with suggestions of warming spice, dark fruit and subtle peppery complexity. Extended maturation adds further depth, bringing the individual components together into a wonderfully sophisticated drinking experience.

Full-bodied, warming and intensely complex, Complicité: Moksa offers a luxurious, lingering finish of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, oak and whiskey warmth. A truly exceptional Imperial Stout for lovers of meticulously crafted barrel-aged beers, and a magnificent example of what two outstanding breweries can achieve when patience and exceptional ingredients take centre stage.
