Adroit Theory Brewing Co - Government Drone 3.0

The drones are back, and this time they're carrying an even bigger payload of hops! Government Drone 3.0 is a formidable 10% Triple IPA from Virginia's boundary-pushing Adroit Theory Brewing Company, created in collaboration with Earlybird's Bottle Shop in Poquoson, Virginia. Following the success of the first two releases, Adroit Theory has pushed the hop additions to extraordinary extremes for this third instalment, creating an intensely aromatic, gloriously hazy powerhouse. This time, Motueka takes centre stage, bringing its unmistakable New Zealand character to a beer designed to deliver maximum hop flavour with remarkably restrained bitterness.

Pouring an opaque golden-yellow colour, Government Drone 3.0 unleashes an enticing aromatic explosion of freshly muddled lime, vibrant lemon zest and luscious tropical fruit. Motueka's distinctive citrus character dominates, delivering wonderfully refreshing notes reminiscent of a freshly prepared mojito, accompanied by delicate tropical undertones. On the palate, bright lime and zesty lemon mingle with juicy tropical fruit flavours, supported by a beautifully soft, semi-sweet malt body. The luxurious, pillowy texture provides the perfect foundation for the beer's enormous hop character, creating a wonderfully rounded and intensely flavourful drinking experience.

Rich, aromatic and dangerously smooth for its formidable 10% strength, Government Drone 3.0 delivers everything that makes modern American Triple IPAs so irresistible. Despite its extraordinary hop additions, perceived bitterness remains beautifully restrained, allowing the vibrant citrus and tropical fruit flavours to take centre stage. The finish is soft and satisfyingly juicy, with lingering mojito lime, lively lemon zest and delicate tropical sweetness. A magnificent showcase of Adroit Theory's mastery of heavyweight hazy beers, proving that sometimes more hops really do mean more happiness!
