At times it’s worth remembering why we got into this game in the first place; the fun of beer and playing with recipes. Melt Energy is our reminder to ourselves that above all else, our beer should be fun to brew and not a slog. Got a spare bucket load of Idaho 7 and Citra? Let's bang em all together and create a bonafide hop bomb of a pale ale. Going a little heavier than usual on the hot side addition of Citra was the raison d’etre here, for no other reason than to just play around with the balance of our beers, and to check what would happen if we went a little lower on the cold side than usual. The result? Possibly one of our most balanced beers to date - a cold side addition of Idaho 7 and more Citra, albeit in its Lupomax form means this beer is positively bursting at the seams with apricot, mango, pineapple, stone fruit and just a little whisper of pithy citrus bitterness to round everything off.
