Garage Project - The End Of The Golden Weather

A beautiful farewell to summer, captured in a bottle! The End of the Golden Weather is an extraordinary 6.4% barrel-aged sour ale from Wellington's acclaimed Garage Project, celebrating the changing seasons through a wonderfully patient and intricate brewing process. Beginning life as one of the brewery's earliest mixed-fermentation sour ales, this remarkable creation spent over a year maturing in a large oak foeder before being introduced to luscious, sun-ripened peaches harvested in Otago at the very end of summer. Further maturation throughout autumn and winter followed, before a final infusion of vibrant golden marigolds added an enchanting floral flourish.

Pouring a beautifully radiant golden colour, The End of the Golden Weather delivers an enticing bouquet of ripe peaches, fragrant summer flowers and delicate orchard fruit, accompanied by the rustic complexity of wild fermentation. On the palate, juicy peach sweetness mingles with refreshing acidity, gentle oak character and subtle floral undertones. The extended maturation creates a wonderfully layered drinking experience, balancing the natural richness of sun-ripened fruit with the lively tartness of a carefully aged mixed-fermentation sour.

Elegant, expressive and wonderfully evocative, this exceptional beer captures the fleeting beauty of summer's final days. The finish is refreshing and delicately tart, with lingering stone fruit, gentle floral notes and a subtle complexity that rewards every sip. A magnificent showcase of Garage Project's Wild Workshop and its dedication to creating beers that celebrate nature, patience and the changing seasons. Enjoy it now or tuck a bottle away for another season!
