The beer was first brewed in 2006 as a special release for the Københavnske Øldage Danish beer festival. The name Pannepøt is a playful nod to that market, and it was brewed as a show of appreciation to Danish beer drinkers.

Pannepøt (often written Pannepeut in markets where “ø” isn’t used) is a Belgian Dark Quadrupel (quad), brewed by De Struise Brouwers in Oostvleteren, West Flanders, Belgium. It is closely related to their flagship beer Pannepot, but a distinct recipe and style.

Aromas: Rich, complex notes of dark stone fruits (plums, figs, raisins), and caramel.

Taste: A quadruple profile with sweet bready malts, juicy dark fruits, caramel, and a hint of spice. The finish is often long and lingering with a slight warmth from the alcohol.

Mouthfeel: Full-bodied with moderate carbonation typical for Belgian quads, making it feel rich and a bit chewy in texture.
