Adroit Theory Brewing Co - Devil's Breath

Straight from the depths of Adroit Theory's dark imagination comes Devil's Breath, a devilishly deceptive 10% Belgian Tripel that proves this celebrated Virginia brewery is capable of far more than enormous Imperial Stouts and hop-saturated IPAs. Originally brewed as Ghost 173 and resurrected for a new generation of craft beer enthusiasts, this formidable creation pays homage to the rich traditions of Belgian brewing. Combining the expressive character of Belgian yeast with a substantial malt backbone, Devil's Breath delivers the warming complexity, fruity aromatics and dangerously drinkable character that make a great Tripel so irresistible.

Expect an inviting golden colour and a wonderfully expressive bouquet of fruity Belgian yeast esters, delicate spice and gentle malt sweetness. Classic Tripel characteristics suggest enticing notes of ripe pear, orchard fruit and subtle citrus, accompanied by hints of peppery spice and honey-like richness. On the palate, expect a beautifully layered combination of soft malt sweetness, fruity fermentation character and warming alcohol, complemented by lively carbonation and restrained hop bitterness. The interplay between yeast-derived fruitiness and delicate spice creates an elegant drinking experience that belies the beer's formidable strength.

Rich, complex and remarkably approachable for a 10% powerhouse, Devil's Breath delivers a wonderfully satisfying balance of fruity sweetness, gentle spice and refreshing bitterness. Its relatively restrained 20 IBU allows the expressive Belgian yeast character to take centre stage, while a warming, pleasantly dry finish provides the perfect conclusion. A magnificent interpretation of a traditional Belgian Tripel, combining centuries-old brewing inspiration with Adroit Theory's unmistakably bold personality. Beware: this devil has a deceptively smooth side!
