This test batch is a corrective step towards what we hope will become a house classic - referring to historic and modern examples of the style, we've dialled in a recipe with all the things about pints of stout that we love.

A carefully balanced malt bill lays down the foundation. Expect light grain sweetness up front, cocoa powder, espresso and a gentle roast bitterness to finish. The body is smooth but not heavy, designed for drinkability rather than indulgence.

This is a stout with northern sensibility - honest, balanced, and sessionable. Still evolving, still being refined, but aspiring to become an everyday classic.
