Many moons ago, after emptying their two Chardonnay barrels of their former saison offspring, Vibant Forest filled them back up with fresh, non-fruited/hopped Zuur. About a month into ageing, they also inoculated both barrels with Brettanomyces. Both barrels tasted very different at the end of maturing; one had taken on the Brett and carried the aroma you'd expect with lashings of dry funk and musty grapes whilst the other was surprisingly fruity with a large amount of apricot creeping in. These were both blended and this bottle holds their gift. Heavy Brett funk on the nose, bright mixed fruits on the tongue with dominant grape and apricot, and the finish is full of dry raspberry, tart grapes, and lingering bretty goodness.
